Field Comprehensive Testing and Study on New Subgrade Structure of High-Speed Railway in Diatomaceous Earth Region

Part of the Hang-Tai High-speed Railway (Hangzhou via Shaoxing to Taizhou in Zhejiang Provence) China passes through diatomaceous earth area, which is first time history Chinese high-speed railway construction. This type soil has significant compressibility, swelling and disintegration. Diatomaceous also shows a sharp reduction strength when exposed water, severely impacts safety project. However, no studies have been carried out on engineering practice building area China. Moreover, there limited experience construction ballastless track area. In order ensure stability subgrade considering high level precipitation location this railway, kind waterproof drainage (WDS) proposed reduce influence foundation. The flexible layer (WDL) inside, consists capillary plates medium-coarse sand. present study, field tests including immersion excitation test are section verify structure. mainly focus technology, performance dynamic characteristics. show that bed with WDL can effectively avoid foundation from rainfall interference maintain long-term subgrade. WDS energy dissipation effect comparison traditional (TS) filler play key role vibration damping, promoting attenuation response downward cross-sectional directions within attenuates along depth. existing measured data, its coefficient acceptable limits. laying does not change characteristics transfer law. structure meets requirements for railways, be used design railways enhanced protection areas or other special areas.
